The Beat Magazine — Spring 2025 Launch link
I led the creation of a print and digital magazine from the ground up — serving as both Creative Director and Managing Editor. This high-visibility initiative was designed to position the company, BarbCo Real Estate, as a community leader, deepen customer connections, and create a compelling, premium leave-behind for sales.
I developed the creative vision: a modern lifestyle magazine with standout design, journalistic storytelling, and original photography. I built a detailed production roadmap, hired and led a creative team, managed writers, designers, and illustrators, and oversaw marketing to ensure the final piece met strategic goals.
Balancing creative vision with business needs came down to four things:
1. Staying open to feedback while protecting quality.
2. Pivoting quickly from what wasn’t working.
3. Building clear systems for sharing scope from the start.
4. Constant, empathetic communication — celebrating wins, flagging risks, and keeping everyone aligned and inspired.
